The ECB’s Lagarde spoke yesterday in a panel at Davos, saying: “inflation is way too high”, “the ECB is determined to bring it down to 2% in a timely manner”, “we will stay course with rate hikes”, and “inflation expectations are not de-anchoring”.

She also said markets should “revise their position” on the expected easing path of ECB rates.
